South Africa won their maiden WAFCON title on Saturday evening, earning a hard-fought 2-1 victory over hosts Morocco, who were contesting their first final in the competition.

The victory came at a time when South Africa enter. Banyana Banyana have qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 along with Morocco, Zambia and Nigeria. The victory comes at a time when South Africa entered into the month of August, which is the country’s Women’s Month.

The South African High Commission in Wellington is excited and looks forward to receiving the African champions in Aotearoa for the 2023 Fifa Women’s World Cup, hoping that the entire South African community in New Zealand will rally behind the team.
