His Excellency Johnny SEXWALE is the South African High Commissioner to New Zealand, Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu.                   Before his appointment, he was Ambassador to the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) from 2019 to 2024. Ambassador SEXWALE was               the Deputy Dean of the African Diplomatic Core in the Republic of Congo.

         High Commissioner SEXWALE is a former freedom fighter who fought against the colonial-racist regime in South Africa. He spent                   fifteen years in exile in various countries where he was involved in the liberation struggle. Before joining the Diplomatic Community,               High Commissioner SEXWALE was an Automobile, Petroleum and Information Technology businessman. High Commissioner                           SEXWALE was a director of state-owned entities and private and public listed companies in South Africa. He was an advisor to the                 Minister of Defence, advising the Minister on matters affecting the Military Reserve Forces.

         High Commissioner SEXWALE received the following awards:

         * Loyal service for unselfish dedication of life and time to liberate South Africans

         * Twenty years’ service for the liberation of South Africa.

         * Cuban recognition for service in the struggle (During the commemoration of the Cuito Cuanavale war in Angola)
